Richard Ray Phillips and Jean Frances Carol Phillips Bursary

Richard and Jean were well known respected residents of Sooke.  Richard and his family started Sooke Motors in the 1940's, and with Jean by his side, Richard continued running Phillips Supplies with humour and hard work until their retirement in the late 1990's.  Richard was always ready with a smile and a helping hand, even leaving holiday family dinners to open the store and help stranded motorists.  Jean's knitted hats, scarves, dolls, blankets and slippers always found their way to those in need, which brought her great happiness.
